REMBE® signaling devices
Accessories for your rupture discs.
Automated processes use intelligent signaling systems to keep you informed at all times about the status of your entire plant and any faults that may arise. You can even install signaling devices for rupture discs that have already been installed. To evaluate the signals, we offer you an isolating switching amplifier with a relay output, which ensures an intrinsically safe quiescent circuit. The potential-free relay contact is used for safe system shutdown or alarming.
Product overview
SK, SR signaling unit
uses the closed-circuit current principle
A signaling cable is integrated into the rupture disc during the manufacturing process to create a highly reliable unit. When the rupture disc opens, the signaling cable circuit is broken and a corresponding signal sent to the process control system. SR: As an installation aid, the SK signaling device can be supplemented with an additional spacer ring and cable gland.
SKK, SGK signaling unit
uses the closed-circuit current principle
Adhesively attached, integral signaling eliminates the need for multiple installation sites. There are no additional requirements for tightness or the installation height of the bursting unit.
SNR signaling unit
with proximity switch, for bi-directional rupture discs
SNR was specially developed for bi-directional rupture discs. The SNR uses a proximity switch, which offers inductive, intrinsically safe monitoring in accordance with NAMUR (EN 60947-5-6) for compliance with the highest safety standards.
BIRD signaling unit
contains a ceramic bar with integrated electrical conductors, also for high temperatures
The standard version of the BIRD unit can withstand temperatures of up to 150 °C (302 °F). A high temperature version, resistant up to 400 °C (752 °F), is also available. The device is mounted using a stainless steel angle and mounting frame.
SLL signaling unit
transmits infra-red beams using optical fibres
These hit the reflector on a rupture disc and are registered by the SLL receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver are integrated in the SLL sensor head. When the rupture disc opens, the reflection is broken and a signal is transmitted from the SLL receiver to the connected process control system.
SB, SB-S, SBK-S signaling unit
uses the closed-circuit current principle, also available without a relief bore for monitoring leakages
The signaling membrane is mounted directly between the flanges on the venting side of the rupture disc. When the rupture disc breaks, the pressure of the discharging process medium destroys the SB-S membrane and the intrinsically safe circuit is broken. This sends an error message to the process control system.
FOS signaling unit
with fiber optic rupture membrane
The fibre optic FOS rupture membrane is used to monitor leakages and the response of rupture discs under highly corrosive conditions and in hazardous areas where electrical connections are not possible. The signaling element carries no current and consists of a glass fibre with a thickness of less than 250 μm. When the rupture disc opens, the optical fibre circuit tears and the circuit is broken. The downstream evaluation unit transmits a signal, which can be used to trigger visual or acoustic alarms and to shut down the plant.
NIMU signaling unit
for processes with high tightness requirements
NIMU is non-invasive signaling that ensures maximum process tightness. Conventional rupture signaling requires that cables attached to the rupture disc must be routed out through the rupture disc holder. Not so with NIMU. A signal indicator is attached to the bursting disc during manufacture.
